Hello Ladies

This photo of Taren when he was just a puppy never fails to make me laugh. I have always suspected he was just a human in a dogs body. A somewhat dorky, and goofy human. Here he sits looking Rico Sauve, Hello Ladies, How are you? Fantastic! Except it starts to derail when you notice his scarf is upside down and there is a blade of grass stuck in his mouth. LOL Better luck next time big boy. Momma loves you anyway.

His Light Shines

There is no greater gift than the love of a childhood friend, who's devotion knows no bounds. No greater sorrow than when they leave our earthbound confines, to wait faithfully till we join them for the ages. With great sadness we say our final goodbye, to my dearest friends, Thumper. Till they meet again, may his light shine through those that remain.

Her Best Boy
"He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being; by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.) When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... whenever... wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I always have. He is just my dog."

Anatomy Of A Shake

I love to watch dogs shake and flap their ears. I really wish as humans we could do the same thing. It looks like it feels great and they always look so pleased with themselves.

As always, textures compliments of the ever generous and talented Jerry Jones.

Speckled, Spotted, Ticked

German Shorthaired Pointer
Caelan has the best markings. He has socks on all four feet. Mickey Mouse ears on one side. He is spotted, he is solid. His stomach is ticked pink perfection. See that freckled strip running below his chin? That is my favorite marking. Mainly because it's his best kept secret, you rarely know its there. Unless you are family, chances are you would never see it. The skin under his chin has folds, and is as soft as silk. His fur begs to be rubbed and scratched. For his enjoyment, but more so my own.
